Matt Rigsby
Adjunct Lecturer

Matt Rigsby holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Science and a Master of Science in Aviation Safety Management. He has been employed by the Federal Aviation Administration since 2002 and works as an Air and Space Air Safety Investigator for the FAA’s Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention, AVP-110. He has participated in over 300 on-scene civilian and military accident investigations, both in the US and abroad. Matt is an FAA-Licensed fixed-wing, instrument-rated, and rotary-wing pilot and holds an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics certificate.
Prior to 2002, Matt worked as an Air Safety Investigator, a System/Flight Test Safety Engineer, and a Flight Test Engineer on the MV-22 and CV-22 tilt-rotor aircraft for Bell Helicopter Textron and before that, worked for the US Army Aviation and Troop Command Center as a Helicopter Engineer.
In addition to his full-time career with the FAA, Matt has now joined the Baylor Institute for Aviation Sciences where he serves as an Adjunct Lecturer teaching Aircraft Accident Investigation and Prevention beginning Fall 2023.
