Joel Martinez

Joel Martinez currently works in Airport Planning and Design for Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. and formerly served as the Director of Aviation for the City of Waco with over 20 years of experience in airport management. 

In the spring of 2014 Joel began teaching Aviation Management for the Institute for Aviation Sciences and supporting an internship program at Baylor University’s Aviation Sciences Department. He continues teaching Aviation Management each spring and has now added Airport Management to his fall teaching schedule.

Joel holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Sul Ross State University and certifications in Part 139 compliance, airport security, and fuel quality control.  He is married to his wife Priscilla for over 20 years and is the father of six children.
